Above and Beyond

October 2014

Emily Rayner from Flight Centre Palmerston North got in touch with me last week on behalf of a client of hers, Michelle.

Michelle represents the local volunteer fire department and she visited Emily in-store as she was organising a wee get together for a friend of hers, who was meant to be going on holiday to Rarotonga with her husband. Tragically, her friend has since been diagnosed with terminal cancer and as such, they have had to cancel their holiday.

As a surprise, Michelle is helping to organise an island themed celebration and get together for close friends and approached Emily about any posters or decorations that Flight Centre might be able to assist with.

Emily contacted me last week and we had Artworks get some generic Rarotonga posters ready and Cube kindly offered to print them for free and only charge delivery. She also contacted Cook Islands Tourism who delivered a box full of goodies.

The posters have been delivered to Emily today so she can pass these on Michelle, in time for the get together. Such a huge act of kindness which all started because Emily was prepared to go above and beyond to assist her customer and a couple facing tragic circumstances.
