Flight Centre Staff Volunteer with Guide Dogs Australia

March 2015

Flight Centre North Star spent a day volunteering at the Guide Dogs Australia NSW Centre in Glossodia, which involved several hours of washing, scrubbing and cleaning out the kennels following by socialising the dogs and playing with the puppies.

As a team we learnt just how much time, money and energy goes into raising and training these guide dogs- from pups born as part of a special breeding program to guide dog training at 14 months, to then graduating after 20 weeks of intensive training and becoming a guide for its handler. As a team, we also came to realise just how much these dogs transform the lives of the vision impaired and just how valuable, loved and needed they truly are.

It was such a amazing day and an eye-opening experience for us all - one that we were all so grateful to have and will never forget.
